L.A & MANILA THAI BBQ ORIGINAL RESTAURANT @ GLORIETTA 4, MAKATI

FINALLY!!! Masarap-licious Food Adventure turns ONE. As the publisher and the food blogger itself, firstly I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you. YES! you whom reading this blog right now. Thank you for continuos support towards my blog unconditionally.

And I'd wish that masarap-licious able to continue stay as the trusted food blog where more and more food reviews yet to share amongst all the reader not just in Philippine but also to the rest of the Asian country

And as the beginning chapter of my food review for the year 2018, I begin my food adventure by visiting the most masarap-licious Thai restaurant that I've tasted so far amongst the current ones that I've tasted during my stay as an expats for almost five years and the one I am mentioned is no other than.... L.A & MANILA THAI BBQ ORIGINAL RESTAURANT

The main purpose why I proudly said this restaurant were the best Thai restaurant compared to the current ones is aside with their grand interior design, this restaurant also implement a strict quality deliverance to their cuisines that been served in order diners were able to taste an unforgetable Authentic Thai cuisine with an affordable price and also without even needed you to travel to Thailand itself to taste these cuisine

A little details about this restaurant is it used to be Tony Roma's and also the restaurant were easily to locate as it was situated exactly besides the main entrance of GLORIETTA 4




The moment you entered into their restaurant you will be greeted and served to their designated dining area as you were enterring into a different dimension of Thai dining experience in more classy and elegant way with their earthly tone color design





In terms of their menu presentation, I wished  they may somehow match it with their interior looks as sadly their current menu looks like a menu that been used by a food court where it just a simple lamination only


I've been told by the manager that all of their dishes are prepared and cooked by THREE EXPERIENCED CHEF which been flight specially from Thailand itself. Besides with the chefs were authenthically from Thailand, this restaurant were also been awarded as the BEST THAILAND RESTAURANT by the THAI EMBASSY of this country itself

And as the dishes were served to my table I was totally in awe as their serving portion was huge and the portion itself are good for one to two persons depending on your appetite

The first dish were served is one of the Thai's favourite appetizer, TOD MUN GOONG (Also known as Fried Shrimp Cake) served with their homemade plum sauce together as part of their dipping condiments for the dish



For me, this dish was fried with perfection where each and single shrimp cake were not looks soggy although it's been fried for a long time. Also, there's a perfect balance of the crunchiness and juicy taste of the shrimp meat itself when the moment it enters into the mouth. 

Plus, with their housemade plum sauce it adds on the sourish flavor from the tamarind which makes this shrimp cake taste more flavorful


And as for salad, I wanted to try something different since most of us know that SOM TAM (Also known as papaya salad) is the most common salad that we will order when visiting any Thai restaurant. 

It is no wrong for us to try something new once in a while, and somehow I've managed to taste their another type of salad which also served as one of their recommendation in this restaurant will be no other than NUA NAM TOK (Which means Roasted Beef salad). 





For this salad, I am happy to said that the meat was not overcooked and the tenderness of the meat itself was still tastable and to pair together with the given cabbage leaves and some cucumber. it adds up the crunchiness of the veggies and making this dish itself packed with the nutrients wanted. Recommended for those that are being health concious .

It's compulsory and must have dishes or I should said the STAR of the dish in every Thai cuisine is definitely the... TOM YUM GOONG (Also known as Shrimp Tom Yum)





What I'd love about their Tom Yum Goong is the tanginess and the sourish flavor of the soup were perfectly made. Although the shrimp that they used is the normal shrimp that we may obtain mostly from the market or supermarkets, yet the chef able to turn the freshness of the shrimp can be tasted in the soup itself. 

The only improvement that the chef need to take note is hope they able to make the following dish more spicier as for me this soups lacks its original spiciness which it supposed to be. Anyhow, this dish is still considered a good dish

And as part of the carbs, I managed to taste their own version of their PAD THAI (Also most of us know, the Dark Sauce Fried Glass Noodles). 




Compared to all pad thai that I've tasted in most of Thai restaurant,  most of it were either too wet or the sauces they used were too much,

But for this Pad Thai that been cooked by this restaurant, you'll never gonna experience those. Each of their glass noodles were cooked with the perfect moisture where you managed to taste the firmness or the QQ-ness of the noodles itself. 

Plus with the generous amount of the beansprout, peanut, protein and seasoning, this PAD THAI someone has win over my heart and definitely I will be ordering this dish on my future visits

The only thing they need to take note about this dish is that they shall make the decorations of the dish looks more attractive as most of the diners always says "To determine whether it was a good food, it shows from the way how the dish were presented" and somehow they just only lack of that decorating skills

And as part of the dining experience, a must not forget is the DESSERTS. And as you all know, I am not a fancy person when comes to sweet food, still this Thai restaurant were managed to change my perspective about it as all of it were made with perfection. like their MANGO STICKY RICE



What I'd love with their mango sticky rice is the firmness and texture of the rice itself were cooked perfectly especially when it dipped together with their creamy coconut milk and the sourness of the mango compliment well on this dish perfectly as it is

Overall, my dining experience with L.A & MANILA THAI BBQ ORIGINAL RESTAURANT is truly the most "AROI-LICIOUS" ever where it somehow managed to fulfill my Thai Food cravings. Definitely will keep coming for more of their other dishes that they offered.
